A vigorous cold front on the New South Wales south coast is expected to reach northern parts early Saturday morning. Strong to gale force northerly winds ahead of the front are turning west to southwesterly behind it. Gale warning for New South Wales waters between Point Danger and Gabo Island: Northerly winds up to 35 to 40 knots, tending west to northwesterly and then west to southwesterly. Combined sea and swell: Increasing up to 5 metres. Please be aware: Wind gusts can be 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
